My Role
Lead product designer (full-time consultant/contract)
UX Strategy & Design
Led UX strategy and design, translating desktop features to mobile and rethinking and redesigning existing platform for better usability and cleaner interaction experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Worked closely with founders, developers, and other stakeholders to align product direction, leading design discussions, resolving communication gaps, and pushing projects forward.
Mentorship & Team Support
Trained and supported a design intern, helping them get up to speed with the product and guiding them through design decisions and workflow.
Research-Driven Design
Conducted regular user and market research to understand the needs of blue-collar workers and recruiters, using insights to inform design strategy, feature priorities, and product direction.

Reflection
Since joining BoomNation as the sole product designer in August 2024, it’s been a challenging but rewarding journey. I’ve led product strategy, design, bug fixes, and cross-team communication, often juggling multiple roles at once. Early on, I had to clean up and unify messy, inconsistent Figma files left by previous short-term contractors while also designing new features. Communication with devs wasn’t always smooth, but it taught me a lot about problem-solving and collaboration. Being part of a small team has given me the chance to learn beyond design, from business and marketing to user recruitment, and has shaped me to be more adaptable.
